"Shaping Our Future" is a program that is of vital importance to the health and welfare of our parish. It will not only provide for the needed space for present and future ministries, but it will also provide us with the needed capital for improvements to our beautiful church. If we were to go to the bank and secure a conventional loan, the interest alone would be more than 21/2 times the principal. The projected monthly payments would seriously impact our current ministry/operating budget.

"Shaping Our Future" will prevent us from having to rob our current ministry/operating budget in order to fund this project. Therefore, we will not have to borrow long-term and incur substantial interest penalties. By committing ourselves to the program, over and above our current giving for ministry and operating expenses, we will ensure the continual growth of our ministry.

"Shaping Our Future" looks forward to the challenges that lie ahead. St. James has not had a major capital campaign for additional space since the completion of the Great Hall in 1986. Since then, we have renovated the interior of the church, upgraded the Sunday School space, made repairs to the roof of the church and landscaped the north side of the church. In that time, we have also doubled the size of our congregation and we continue to experience steady growth!

By successfully completing this program, St. James will be in a position to offer additional opportunities for ministry.
